Online Analysis

Not local to the Okanagan?  Use the Online Analysis service!

After providing some basic training information, simply film yourself according to the instructions below and upload your videos to the Internet (directions for DropBox and YouTube below) or mail them to me to receive your personalized analysis report.

Online Analysis (USD $120) 

Includes a detailed 4-5 page report highlighting:

  • The biomechanical errors in your gait and how they may lead to future injury
  • Feedback and easy-to-follow recommendations addressing your major issues
  • Qualitative assessment of body positions so you can track your improvement with future analyses
  • Prescription of drills, strengthening, and stretching exercises to help you try to fix your weaknesses, all by links to video for ease of use and understanding
  • Shoe type recommendations, as appropriate

Payment is invoiced via PayPal upon receipt of client information and videos.

You may expect your analysis within 2 weeks of payment receipt.

Filming Instructions

  • You can use your cell phone, the video function on a point-and-shoot camera, or a proper video camera to film your gait.  The better the video quality (and higher the frame rate), the easier and more accurate the analysis.
    • The following formats are supported by video analysis software: AVI, MPG, MOV, WMV, MP4, FLV, 3GP, MKV, VOB, MOD, TOD.
  • It’s important to film yourself running over ground (as opposed to on a treadmill) as your running style changes significantly enough that your analysis won’t be applicable to your everyday training (unless you only train on a treadmill)
  • Some points to consider when filming:
    • Running involves the whole body, so I must see your whole body in the shot
    • Run on level ground – a running track or level parking lot works well
    • Run at your easy run pace, as most of your running is done with this gait
    • Length of clip required: 10 sec for each view, in each direction (no acceleration)
    • Keep camera as stable as possible
    • Wear tight fitting clothes – preferably men without a shirt and women in a sports bra
    • Run as you normally would – don’t try to correct yourself because you’re on camera!

Uploading Instructions: DropBox

  1. Go to www.dropbox.com
  2. Create a DropBox account
  3. Once logged on, upload your videos to your DropBox account:
    1. Click the file upload icon (top right-hand side of the screen):
      1. Click ‘Choose files’ and select the files of you running
    2. Highlight the file and select ‘Share link’
    3. Send the link to nikki@run-right.ca

Uploading Instructions: YouTube

  1. Go to www.youtube.com
  2. Create a YouTube account (you will have to create a Gmail account if you don’t have one)
  3. Once logged on, upload your videos to your YouTube account:
    1. Click ‘Upload’

      1. Click ‘Select files from your computer’ and upload the files of you running

B.  Under ‘Privacy Settings’ select ‘Public’

C.  Once uploaded, click the ‘Share’ button and copy and send the link to nikki@run-right.ca
